It seems Patrick Bamford’s season with Leeds United may not be over just yet.
That’s after The Daily Mirror reported that the striker could yet feature in the final three games of this season.
Bamford has endured a miserable season due to injury, managing just nine appearances since the start of the season.
The striker suffered yet another setback in Leeds’ final game before the international break, when he was forced off 20 minutes into the win over Wolves.
It was then revealed by the club that the injury the striker suffered at Molineux, is a foot injury that will keep him out until the end of the season.
Now however, it seems that may not be the case, with this latest update claiming that Leeds are hopeful Bamford could still feature for them in the final three games of the campaign.
It is thought that when Rodrigo and Pascal Struijk suffered that injury, they were able to return in between four to five weeks, and if Bamford is the same, he may be able to return before the season is over.
Those final three games of the season for Leeds see them travel to Arsenal, before hosting Brighton and then finishing the campaign away at Brentford.
It would certainly be a huge boost to Leeds if they were to have Bamford available for those games.
The striker has been a big miss for the Whites throughout much of the campaign, and the absence of his goals has significantly contributed to their struggles.
As a result, his potential return to action for those final few games could prove crucial, given he could yet come up with some vital goals that keep Leeds out of trouble.
However, given how badly he has been hit by injuries this season, the club will surely have to be careful not to push him too far here, since they need to consider the long term prosepcts, as well as the short term ones.
