Leeds United are interested in signing winger Moses Simon from Nantes this summer.
That’s according to a report from French outlet RMC Sport, who do however, suggest the Elland Road club will have to move quickly if they are to get a deal done.
With Raphinha among those who look set to be on their way out of Elland Road this summer, a new winger looks to be a major priority for Leeds in what remains of the market.
Now it seems as though the club are considering Simon to fill that role, with the 26-year-old having six goals and provided eight assists in 30 Ligue 1 games for Nantes last season.
According to this latest update, Leeds are monitoring the situation around Simon this summer, following those exploits during the 2021/22 campaign.
However, it is claimed that Simon himself already has a deal in place with Nantes’ Ligue 1 rivals Nice, meaning Leeds may not have long to seal a deal if they are to win this transfer race.
Indeed, with Nantes chief Frank Kita admitting the winger could be sold this summer if the right offers come in, it seems there is a chance the 26-year-old will be on the move in the coming weeks.
You get the feeling Leeds may want to move quickly to give themselves a chance of getting a deal done here.
With Raphinha looking destined to move on this summer, another addition in the wide areas will be vital for the club, and Simon could certainly fill that role.
Indeed, given Raphhinha himself has flourished at Leeds since making a move from France, there may be some belief that Simon can make a similar impact in the Premier League.
Considering the appeal of the Premier League, it could also be argued that Leeds may have a chance of getting this signing done despite Nice’s interest, provided they make their move in time.
