Leeds United are one of two Premier League sides plotting a move for Rennes forward Martin Terrier.
A forward signing is on the cards for Leeds in the final stages of pre-season, with a number of names from across Europe being linked.
L’Equipe have reported previously that Leeds and West Ham are looking into the signing of Rennes’ forward Martin Terrier.
The report also reveals that it would take around ?34million for the French side to sell this summer.
Here, we look at how this signing could impact two different players at Leeds…
Winner: Patrick Bamford
Any signing that Leeds make in the attacking department is going to be made as a way to boost Patrick Bamford’s performance.
Having a partner to feed off of the number nine is going to be a good watch for next season, and Terrier has that in his game.
Having scored 21 league goals last season, played in a mixture of roles up front, Terrier would help us in the areas where Bamford doesn’t specialise.
Either coming off the left or playing deeper than Bamford, it’s a combination that could work very well.

Loser: Rodrigo
Where Bamford benefits, Rodrigo will be losing out.
The Spaniard is one of Jesse Marsch’s more senior and important players, but pre-season has presented the same shortcomings to Rodrigo playing in that ‘deeper’ role off the front.
Losing the ball in good areas, and not being quick enough to move a pass on are both issues that need rectifying with this new signing.
Should Leeds break their club record to sign a new forward, the man who Leeds last broke their record on won’t be benefitting.
Another forward in the mix limits playing time elsewhere in the pecking order.
