Five weeks stand between Leeds United and the end of the summer transfer window. With the pre-season tour out of the way and the new season rapidly approaching, the Whites are taking their final stock checks before they get down to business.
Victor Orta has already added seven new faces to the squad, with two of those earmarked for under-21 football, but he Helder Costa can rely on Jorge Mendes to find him another club at the drop of a hat. Ian Poveda has suitors in Segunda Division, Major League Soccer and the Championship, who could loan him with a view to a permanent deal.
Lewis Bate’s exclusion from the Australia tour underlined his place in the pecking order and a loan for the 19-year-old is possible. Leeds see a long-term future for him at Elland Road and would only consider such an exit if it was at the right club in the right league.
