Leeds United have offered £1.7million to sign Fenerbahce striker Mergim Berisha this summer, according to Omer Celikbasli.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, the SPOR journalist reported that the Turkish club have previously demanded £4.2million from other clubs.
It was shared that Berisha currently earns up £1.2million-per-year at Fenerbahce, but his demands could rise to £1.7million should a move to Elland Road be put in place.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Celikbasli shared the latest behind Jesse Marsch’s move for yet another reunion with a former player.
“Leeds United have offered €2million [£1.7m] for Mergim Berisha,” he said.
“Fenerbahce demanded €5million [£4.2m] from Stuttgart and Mainz as it wanted. Negotiations continue. Jesse Marsch knows Berisha and knows what he’s capable of. That’s why he wants his transfer.
“Berisha receives a salary of around €1.5million [£1.2m] from Fenerbahçe. Again, the average will ask for these numbers. It will be between €1.5-2million [£1.7m].”

Marsch has played it safe with the majority of his signings this summer.
Victor Orta has put in the hard work to get the deals over the line, with Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Tyler Adams all having featured under the American before.
That could either work perfectly or backfire dramatically, but early signs have looked positive in pre-season.
Berisha is available on the cheap it seems, and even on those wages, he wouldn’t be much of a risk.
Given that Club Brugges’ Charles De Ketelaere and Paris Saint-Germain’s Arnaud Kalimuendo have been heavily linked with a move, one of those two appears more likely right now.
