Manchester City wonder Darko Gyabi will undergo his medical at Leeds United on Friday [01 July], according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper have reported on their website that the Whites are nearing the £5million transfer which was negotiated alongside the imminent exit of Kalvin Phillips.
It is said that should everything go smoothly, the deal will be announced ahead of Gyabi joining up with Jesse Marsch’s side in pre-season to fight for a place in the first-team squad.
Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post on Thursday [30 June], Graham Smyth shared that Gyabi should arrive on Friday to get a deal over the line at Elland Road.
“The other business between the Premier League champions and Leeds is also due to be brought to fruition in the next few days,” he wrote.
“Darko Gyabi is likely to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a £5m move from the Etihad and will join up with Jesse Marsch’s already-underway pre-season programme in order to begin his fight for a place in the first-team squad.”
Sacrificed.
Although the deals were worked on separately, Pep Guardiola may have had to sacrifice Gyabi to go the other way in order to get the Phillips deal over the line.
The former Millwall talent arrived at The Etihad during the tenure of Guardiola, and he has worked with some of the best young players around the globe.
Of course, that doesn’t make up for losing the Yorkshire Pirlo now.
But, with that being said, if Gyabi becomes a world-beater in the next three years with consistent minutes in the Premier League, he may go some way to doing just that.
Let’s just hope there are no clauses such as a buy-back included in the deal, although there are specific clauses that have been integrated into it[Manchester Evening News].
With all of this information, it looks as though the double announcement is coming very soon and it is time to move away from the old reign, and move on to the new with Gyabi.
