Barcelona are blocking Leeds United winger Raphinha from joining other clubs ahead of a proposed move to the Camp Nou this summer.
That’s according to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, who say there are three phases for the La Liga giants to complete before they can sign the Brazilian.
It has looked for some time as though Raphinha is destined for a move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
There have been some reports that have even claimed that the winger has agreed personal terms on a move to the Camp Nou, although other issues have still to be dealt with.
Now it seems as though Barcelona are taking significant steps to ensure that Raphinha does now agree to a move elsewhere, while they are completing his signing.
According to this latest update, Barcelona are currently blocking the Leeds winger from joining another club, and are relying on his patience to give them the chance to get a deal over the line.
It is thought that prior to a deal being completed, Barca will have to let other players go, recoup money that can be invested back into transfers, and then decide their priorities for the window.
This does feel like something of a risk for Barcelona to take.
Raphinha may not want to wait forever for them, and he could have his head turned if other interest emerges in him.
Meanwhile, you could also question how Barca can be so certain they want the Leeds winger, if they are yet to actually decide on their priorities for the market.
It seems therefore, as though there is still much to be done before a deal goes through, and that could mean there are a few twists to come in this saga before it is over.
