View: ‘Woeful’ Leeds ace now big hope for Marsch after major development, set to start v Arsenal

Stuart Dallas posted a brilliant message today (03 May) as the Leeds United midfielder is now set for a lengthy rehab.

The Mr Dependable suffered a serious leg injury at the weekend against Manchester City and he is unlikely to take any part this season.

He was stretchered off on Saturday at Elland Road with a fractured femur as the Whites lost 4-0.

His absence has come at a bad time for the club, with Leeds fighting for survival. Dallas is a versatile player who can play in multiple roles including at left-back.

He is solid in defence and rarely makes mistakes. But now, Jesse Marsch will have to rely on Junior Firpo till the end of the season.

Firpo is an exciting player with the ball on his feet but he is error-prone and more often than not puts the defence under pressure.

The former Barcelona defender was the weak link for his side against Manchester City, and Andy Townsend said while commenting on the game for Premier League world feed that he was “woeful” at times with his passing and decision making.

Another major issue with Firpo is that he is injury prone. He has hardly played at a stretch and as a result, has failed to forge that natural connection with other defenders.

He has recently returned to full fitness, and Marsch is left with no option but to rely on him as Leeds look to gain crucial points against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Having said that, it’s still better to have a recognised left-footed wing-back than using someone like Pascal Struijk playing out of his position. Firpo is now the big hope for Marsch.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a “Phenomenal” attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
