Leeds United are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Barcelona for the signing of Raphinha this summer, according to 90min.
The online outlet has reported on their website that the Spaniards have been pushed to structure their offer in a more satisfactory payment plan to the Whites.
It is said that the offer on the table is similar to the £60million on the table from Chelsea, with this agreement set to see a monster new injection of cash into the Elland Road accounts.
Raphinha returned to Leeds training on Thursday [07 July], and a decision is wanted very soon with the club set to jet out to Australia on Sunday ahead of their pre-season tour.
Barcelona have made other offers, but they were instalment heavy and included many add-ons.
That is the opposite of Chelsea, who put the money on the table in whole, something that Barcelona may be forced to try and do themselves, or at least more than 50% upfront.
Cash injection.
Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta have negotiated hard, and they have to be praised for how they have not crumbled like many other clubs have to Barcelona.
Raphinha may dream of that move to the Nou Camp, but the Spaniards still need to cough up the cash, and it looks as though they have eventually been forced into that.
The Elland Road bank account has taken a big hit this summer bringing in six new signings already, but with Raphinha set to follow Kalvin Phillips on the way out, it will be back in the green easily.
That then leaves plenty of funds to go out and bring in that new striker.
Charles De Ketelaere at Club Brugges would require a club-record fee, and getting big money upfront for Raphinha would put them in a position to pay up.
This opens many doors, and it looks as though we aren’t far away from getting an agreement in place for the Brazilian to move on, it could even happen before we jet out to Australia.
