Weather forecast in Leeds on Friday as Yorkshire heatwave cools down

With the Met Office predicting temperatures across Yorkshire to reach the mid 30s next Monday and Tuesday, you might be glad to know that in Leeds, temperatures are cooling down.

Temperatures in Leeds are expected to reach highs of 20C on Friday, the weekend will see the same highs as recent weeks hitting 24C and 28C before the expected 31C and 35C heat on Monday and Tuesday. The skies will be cloudy throughout the morning, between 10am and 1pm the Met Office has predicted overcast spells with a higher chance of showers.

Across the weekend, we can expect to see conditions to be dry through the weekend and into Monday, with sunshine returning and winds remaining light. Temperatures will climb through the period, feeling hot or very hot in places by Sunday.

An Amber Extreme Heat Warning is in place for Sunday and Monday. This means “population-wide adverse health effects are likely to be experienced”.

Forecasters are talking of record-breaking temperatures in this period, the current record is from 2019 and is a temperature of 38.7 degrees, while the current predictions say it is unlikely to reach this temperature early next week, it cannot be ruled out.
