‘Doing well’ – Leeds United’s Illan Meslier provides injury update after Wolves triumph

Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has opened up on the injury that saw him forced off during the win over Wolves.

Everything looked to be going against Leeds on Friday night against Wolves with four players forced off through injury before the stunning comeback, including an injury to Illan Meslier, who was fouled by Raul Jimenez, seeing the Mexican handed a second yellow card.

Meslier couldn’t continue as he took a hefty knock during that full-speed collision with Jimenez, meaning Kristoffer Klaesson made his senior debut for the club.

The club and fans will now be sweating over the availability of Meslier going forward, hoping it’s not as bad an injury as feared.

He took to Instagram to share his thoughts on a whirlwind evening and his setback:

We can’t really afford to lose Meslier for a long period, even if Klaesson made a great impact in the last half hour of that game.

Meslier has saved us countless times and we wouldn’t have back-to-back wins if it wasn’t for him.

While it could be a big blow, at least Klaeeson showed he can step up to the plate when needed.

We have got two weeks now to rest up and get all of our injured players back in good shape for a shot at three straight wins against Southampton.
